Béa Gonzalez
Béa GonzalezBéa Gonzalez was born in Spain and immigrated to Canada as a child. Following studies in Spain and Toronto, she pursued postgraduate studies in London, England, where she received an MA in Literary and Historical Studies from the University of London. Gonzalez is the author of many articles, literary essays and reviews. She is also a lecturer and educator and designs and leads tours to Spain and Latin America to study their poets and writers. She is the author of two novels, The Bitter Taste of Time and The Mapmaker’s Opera. To date, her books have been published in seven countries.  Béa is currently developing The Lindorm Chronicles, a new trilogy of High-Fantasy novels.

Victor Kazan

Victor KazanVictor has worked in the entertainment industry for more than forty-five years. Born and educated in London, he carved a distinguished reputation as a writer and director in British theatre and television before taking up residence in Australia in the early 1980s. Since then, his major work has been in film and musical theatre. Among his Australian screenplays is the popular, feel-good movie “Dalkeith.

Kevin Purcell
Kevin PurcellKevin has worked extensively in London’s West End, the USA and South-East Asia as a musical director for theatre producers Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Between July and September 2013, Kevin undertook the role of Musical Director for the first national UK/Eire Tour of Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz. He is also one of Australia’s most accomplished and experienced opera conductors having been mentored by the late Sir Charles Mackerras and as a student of Otakar Trhlík at the Janácek Academy of Music & Drama in Brno (CZ), Myer Fredman (Opera Australia) and the American conducting pedagogue, Harold Farberman.  He is currently Principal Conductor of the Australian Discovery Orchestra. As an orchestrator, Kevin has contributed to arrangements for leading theatre Broadway creatives and performers, including Stephen Schwartz, Lynn Ahrens & Stephen Flaherty, and the late Marvin Hamlisch, as well as for numerous American symphony orchestras including, The Boston Pops, New York Pops and National Symphony Orchestras.

Stella Entertainment is an Australian theatrical producing and presenting company, whose mission is to advance the development of young Australian musical theatre talent and new Australian musical theatre writing.


Mark Buys (Arranger)
Mark BuysMark is one of Australia’s most versatile composers and orchestrator/arranger/synthesizer programmers. He combines expertise in film, contemporary popular and classical music, theatre and e-media. Mark has previously worked in Los Angeles on numerous film, TV and games projects. Mark has contributed extensively to the arrangements of songs as recorded on The Mapmaker’s Opera web site.

Stas Kmiec (Choreographer)

SK PhotoStas specializes in a variety of dance styles: theaterdance, character/folk, period/historical, ballet, and concert dance. His choreography has been seen on the New York stage, Off-Broadway, in a national tour of Me and My Girl, the Irish premiere of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, the Los Angeles premiere of My Antonia – directed by Scott Schwartz with music by Stephen Schwartz, and on television and film. He is the Artistic Director of Ballet Western Reserve. Kmiec danced with the Boston Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera Ballet; toured internationally and performed on Broadway with both Rudolf Nureyev in Don Quixote, and in Lee Theodore’s American Dancemachine; and was in two national tours of Jerome Robbins’ Fiddler on the Roof. A graduate of Tufts University, Stas has a second degree in ethnography/folk studies and pedagogy from The University of Marie Curie-Sklodowska in Poland.  Kmiec is a member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, AGMA and SDC.

Walter Dobrowolski (Video Director)
Walter_DobrowlskiWalter is the creator of the music videos for The Mapmaker’s Opera.  His broad range of experience began in television, working on ABC Television drama productions, from which he progressed to making documentary films, such as Don’t Rock Jazz, for SBS.   He subsequently became a Creative Director in corporate communication, producing acclaimed videos for major organisations such as World Vision.  Walter has been collaborating with Victor Kazan in the film and television media for over thirty years.

Martin Platt & David Elliott are the Co-Directors of Perry Street Theatricals. Producing credits include Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Tony Award and Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Play, Lend Me A Tenor The Musical (West End, Olivier nom.), Bedlam’s Hamlet/Saint Joan (Culture Project), an oak tree (Barrow Street, OBIE), In the Continuum (OBIE), Exits and Entrances (Edinburgh), Shylock, Treason (Perry Street), The Exonerated (Drama Desk, Lortel, Outer Critics). As General Manager: Bedlam’s Hamlet/Saint Joan (Culture Project), Date of a Lifetime (New Jersey Rep), Ethel Sings: Espionage in High C (The Beckett), White People (Atlantic), an oak tree (Barrow Street), and two seasons at Perry Street Theatre. Upcoming: Dames at Sea (Broadway), My Life is a Musical (Bay Street) and The Mapmakers Opera (NYMF).
